A Picture post: Sunday’s Shenanigans

On Sunday the Hubby took me to Gordan’s Bay because I was grumpy, and he knew how much I wanted to go to the bookstore there. I have to say that I truly appreciated it since his plan was to spend the day with his Play Station playing Grand Theft Auto V – that’s straight up love, yo! It was amazing to just spend a few hours in the sun, and it made me feel so much better about the week ahead.

We’ve had beautiful, sunny skies this weekend even though we’re supposed to be in the heart of winter. Walking on the beach and breathing in the fresh ocean air made me feel so peaceful. I felt inspired after a day away from the hussle and bussle of the city; and because I haven’t been to the beach since the real summer months, I realized just how much I missed being outside.

I’ve only been to Bikini Beach Bookstore one other time, but I can still remember how I felt walking through those doors for the first time. Being surrounded by what seems like endless rows of books was so exciting…

Look at all those books!!! And these pictures only show one passage of the entire house FILLED with books. I could stay there for days browsing through the different stacks, which are supposed to be sorted alphabetically by author’s name. Speaking of author – when I walked into this store for the first time I was so overwhelmed that I couldn’t think of a single author’s name #BrainFart!!

After a couple of hours, I walked out with this pile. I am so chuffed because I managed to find a book that I’ve been meaning to read for AGES despite it being on my e-reader. I’ve already started reading it, and I am so excited to do a review.

Satisfied with my purchases, we ended the day off with these huge ice-cream cones that gave us both tummy aches, and headed home just in time for Taufeeq to get a good dose of video games.

What are your favourite second hand book stores in the vicinity of Cape Town?
