August Book Wrap-up

I know it’s only half way through August but I think I’ve done enough book buying, and it’s safe to say that I’m done for the month.

I only recently discovered this amazing online book store based in South Africa, called Reader’s Warehouse and I couldn’t wait to place my first order. I belong to their reviewer club where for every book you review on their website, you get a R2 voucher. I’ve accumulated about R42 which I immediately cashed out to buy two books (as shown above) that I’ve had my eye on for a while.

I chose to have the books delivered straight home, because who doesn’t enjoy the excitement of unwrapping a parcel dropped off by the couriers?

I have to say that I was really impressed by their service. They responded very quickly whenever I had a query and made me feel so welcome and special. I always appreciate this kind of service from stores because to me it shows that they care about their customers, and it means a lot when they go that extra mile to make me feel like I matter to them… I am also so happy with the books I got and can’t wait to place my next order!

Apart from the two I bought from the Reader’s Warehouse, these are the rest of the books I picked up this month:

1) Dan Brown : Digital Fortress, Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code and Deception Point
2) Marissa Meyer: Cinder and Scarlet
3) Michele Giuttari: The Dark Heart of Florence
4) Elizabeth Haynes: Under a Silent Moon
5) Marian Keyes : The Other Side of the Story
6) Nele Neuhaus: Snow White Must Die
7) Madeline Miller: The Song of Achilles

So that is my August Book wrap-up! I have quite a list of books I’d like to get but if there are any you’ve enjoyed recently that you would recommend I get then please feel free to drop a comment to let me know.

Oh! And if you haven’t noticed, I joined Instagram lately, where you can follow my Bibliophilic tendencies if that sounds like something that would appeal to you.

I have heard so many wonderful things about that book and cannot wait to read it. I’ve started already but I am so into Scarlet that I haven’t given it my full attention. When I’ve completed, I will let you know my thoughts on it 🙂 Thanks for the visit Xo

I’m sorry for being recurrent but please give a brief review of “I’ll give you the sun’ once you are done reading. I’m judging the book by its cover as of now and it seems pretty good! In my head, the author’s got a writing style similar to that of John Green 🙂 Anyway, please write about the goods and the bads once you’re done. Thanks in advance!

another bibliophile!! It’s good to know I’m not the only one who always ends up looking at a new pile of books thinking…”did I just buy all those?!” What did you make of ‘Under a silent moon’ one of my friends read it recently and said they enjoyed it so I’ve been thinking of whether to get it or not for when I’m back in the UK…!

🙂 🙂 Hi Anna and thank you for the visit! Alas, yet another bibliophile yes!! It’s incredibly straining on the bank balance isn’t it??! But I just can’t seem to help myself… I have not read it yet :/ (another downfall from being a bibliophile is constantly buying books when you have a a whole unread pile growing by the day!) But it sounds real interesting, plus I got it on sale so I had to get it. I’ll do a little review once I’ve completed it just for you 🙂 Xo

I love Readers Warehouse! I’d move in there if I could. I’m from Durban and we don’t have a store here but I love the Bargain bin in their Jozi store. I bought a book for R10 (G)

I haven’t been to their store yet but their online store is perfect for me because it is so convenient and I get the vouchers when I do reviews! R10 for a book is unheard of!!! Thanks for the visit Shanice 🙂

I recently read Cinder and can’t wait to read the sequel, Scarlet! I hope you enjoy it! 😀 Have you read The Song of Achilles? It’s on my neverending TBR stack and I’m wondering whether I should read it a.s.a.p!

I am currently reading The Song of Achilles and its been going good so far… I enjoy her writing technique and the story is quite different to anything I’ve read before.
